Boccia at Exeter University - February 2009

On Wednesday 25th February we ran two Boccia Tournament at St Lukes school in Exeter in conjunction with the Exeter Sports Partnership.

In the morning we invited teams from local Special Schools.  Ellen Tinkham, Oaklands Park, Bidwell Brook and Southbrook College all brought two teams.  The schools played a round robin type event, in two pools. The eventual winners were Ellen Tinkham B and Southbrook B.

In the afternoon mainstream secondary schools were invited to bring teams of students with additional needs.  South Dartmoor Community College, Teign School, and St Lukes School all sent two teams.  This was the first time many of the students involved had ever represented their school.  They all thoroughly enjoyed the event and the overall winners were Teign School B and St Lukes D.

Thank you to Mr Goss and Kevin Hack from the Exeter Sports Partnership who organised the event, and also to the Sports Leaders from St Lukes who umpired the games.
